General Membership Meeting
Note: We have a temporary venue change starting in January.
The Temecula Community Recreation Center (CRC) will be having some construction done on the floor.
Don’t worry - it will be done in time for us to have the Flower Show at the CRC in May.
However, we must move our monthly meetings beginning in January to a new location.
The city has found us another venue which is the Temecula Community Center (TCC).
Therefore, our January through June monthly meetings will be at the TCC.

April 9, 2024 Program: Gearing Up for the May 11th Flower Show
Speakers: Flower Show Co-Chairs Susan Puma & Susan Corey
Susan Puma will show an entertaining video on how to enter your Horticulture Division exhibits,
as well as some simple tips and tricks to ensure your entries will be blue ribbon winners
Flower Show schedules and entry cards will be available.
During the hospitality time, Ruth Lozano will have an information table to encourage members to enter the Design Division.
Ruth and other designers will be available to personally help members with their designs in the weeks before the show.
What’s Happening at the Farm
Speaker: Mary Ann Tams, Director of Cultivating Inclusion Farm
Mary Ann Tams, Director of CIF will be speaking at our April meeting to acquaint us as to what happens
at the Cultivating Inclusion Farm.
Kate Ensign will be handling the Grow It and Give It program and be delivering our donations each month
to the Murrieta United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
So, please check your pantry for any extra canned or packaged food and bring it to the meeting.
Or bring any excess produce from your garden.

Cancelled Our next trip will be to the Flower Fields of Carlsbad in April (a date yet to be determined).
There is a $20 entrance fee and, should you so desire, an optional tractor ride for an additional $8.
Food trucks will be available for lunch or you may bring your own brown bag.
CGCI Floral Design Forum
March 11, will be on Petite Designs given by Dyanna Madro.
Spoiler alert: we will be having Dyanna lead a Petite Design workshop for the TVGC in April.
If you love the miniatures, you may want to do both!
The date and location for the April Floral Design Forum have yet to be determined due to scheduling conflicts.
Ruth will let us know as soon as they are resolved.

Flower Show Workshop
Petite Design - Dyanna Madro
Heritage Club House
Tuesday, April 23 at 12:30 p.m.
Cost is $20 and you pay when you sign up.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn from a Master Floral Designer and Judge.
Dyanna was last year's winningest designer at the San Diego Fair!
Even if you are not planning to enter a petite design in the show, you will learn principles
that apply to all floral designs and gain a new perspective on design elements.
Plus, you are guaranteed to have fun while doing it.
Cookbooks are for sale.
Recipes provided by TVGC members.
This loose leaf bound book contains a collection of “tried and true” recipes
first compiled in 2006. They range from appetizers, beverages,
soups, salads, sides, main dishes, desserts, cookies and candy.
Plus the book cleverly incorporates a handy cook book stand stored inside on the binder rings.
Members can purchase cookbooks from Carol Guerard.
Cookbooks are for sale to the public in Old Town Temecula at
Temecula Olive Oil Company, 28653 Old Town Front Street.

The first three of TVGC’s Garden Guide Booklets are available for sale for $5 each.
The first booklet lists trees that grow readily in the Temecula Valley, along with beautiful color photos,
and much information about each species and a location where you can see a real tree of each variety.
The second booklet is on Shrubs for our area, and the third is about Succulents.
These beautiful booklets make great gifts.

Master Gardener Workshops
Western Municipal Water District partners with the University of California, Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources,
University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Master Gardener Program of Riverside County
to host FREE monthly workshops that focus on gardening and efficient outdoor water use.
Workshops are hosted on the second Saturday of each month.

Rose Haven Heritage Garden 30th Anniversary
Offering an Opportunity for you to “Help Us Grow Our Garden”
In 2020 the Temecula Valley Rose Society kicked off a fundraising campaign to support our 3-year
master plan for renovations, improvements and new features to the Garden. We are excited to
announce a significant new addition, the Boos Courtyard Labyrinth, which will include a 24’ walking
labyrinth encircled with 220 commemorative engraved Donor Bricks. This is an outstanding
opportunity for members of our community to join the “Help Us Grow Our Garden” campaign,
be recognized as a donor, and become a permanent part of this enchanting Garden.

For 2020-21, the COVID pandemic curtailed most in-person gatherings.
As things began to open up... on May 11, 2021, three TVGC members opened their Gardens for a tour.

At our End of Year meeting in June 2021, (via Zoom), members were shown
